Which laser course should I do first?
If you want to offer laser hair reduction, start with the nationally recognised course. The Q-switch workshop suits people who already work in beauty and want to add tattoo removal or carbon laser.
Are both laser courses nationally recognised?
Laser hair reduction is nationally recognised (SHBBHRS005 and SHBBHRS007). The Q-switch laser workshop is non-accredited, and you receive a certificate of completion.
How much does it cost?
$5,000 for both units, with a payment plan available. The final payment is due before your Statement of Attainment is issued.
Do I need a licence to use a laser?
It depends on your state. Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania require a separate licence from the state radiation regulator to operate cosmetic lasers. Your training supports a licence application but is not the licence itself. Check the current rules where you plan to work.
