Urban Skin Academy was built around a simple observation: skin and beauty treatments have moved faster than the training behind them. Lasers, IPL, needling and light-based therapies are now standard in clinics across Sydney, but the training available to therapists has not always kept pace with the equipment they are expected to operate.
We are a registered training organisation, RTO 46587, registered with the Australian Skills Quality Authority on 25 June 2026 under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011. Our approved scope covers three nationally recognised qualifications and 68 units of competency spanning beauty therapy, skin therapy, laser and intense pulsed light, massage and spa treatments.
Our campus is on the ground floor of Little Saigon Plaza at 462 Chapel Road, Bankstown, in the heart of South West Sydney. Theory is delivered online so you can fit it around work, while every practical session runs face-to-face in small groups on the same clinical-grade equipment you will use professionally.

To give skin and beauty professionals training that matches the reality of clinic work: current equipment, small practical groups, and assessment against national standards rather than attendance alone. We want every graduate to leave able to demonstrate the treatment, explain why they are doing it, and recognise when not to.
To be the training provider South West Sydney clinics recommend to their own staff. That means growing our scope in step with the treatments the industry actually uses, being straight with students about what each course does and does not lead to, and holding our delivery to a standard we would be comfortable having audited on any given day.
Every course on this site states plainly whether it is nationally recognised training or a non-accredited workshop, what certificate you receive, and what it does not entitle you to do. You should never have to guess whether the course you are paying for leads to a qualification.
Infection control, client screening, contraindications and device safety are taught as core practice, not as an afterthought. Knowing when to refuse or refer a treatment matters as much as knowing how to perform one, and we assess both.
Practical skills are assessed face-to-face on live clients under supervision, against the requirements of each national unit. You are assessed Competent or Not Yet Competent, with reassessment included, because a certificate is only worth what the holder can actually do.
Every student completes a pre-training review and a language, literacy and numeracy assessment before enrolling, so support is arranged from the start rather than after something goes wrong. Credit transfer and recognition of prior learning are available to anyone who has already done the work.
