A specialist advanced diploma in skin therapy covering microdermabrasion, skin needling, chemical peels, LED and light-based treatments. Entry requirements apply. Pathway to senior clinic roles.
Nationally Recognised Training
An advanced qualification for skin and beauty therapists who design and deliver specialised treatments for clients with a range of skin concerns. You learn to consult in depth, synthesise specialised knowledge and manage sequential treatment programs, and to use initiative and judgement to refuse or refer a treatment where that is the right call. Practitioners work within a defined scope of practice in skin and beauty therapy clinics.
To enrol in this course, you must meet the following requirements:
Blended delivery. Theory is completed online; all device training and practical assessment is face-to-face on clinical-grade equipment at our Bankstown campus. Delivered in NSW only.
Every unit is assessed as Competent (C) or Not Yet Competent (NYC). Two reassessment attempts are included at no extra cost. You must be assessed Competent in every unit in your program to be issued the full qualification. If you exit early you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units you have completed. Several units in this program carry prerequisites. Your trainer will confirm your unit sequence at enrolment.
Photo identification, your USI, evidence that you meet the entry requirements, closed-in flat shoes and a notepad.

Not by itself. The use of laser and intense pulsed light is regulated in some Australian states and territories. Check the current requirements with the relevant authority in the state where you intend to work before you begin practising.
This qualification focuses on skin treatments such as needling, peels, LED and light-based rejuvenation. The other focuses specifically on hair reduction. They are separate qualifications with separate entry requirements and many therapists complete both.
On being assessed Competent in all 15 units you receive a nationally recognised testamur and a record of results. If you exit early you receive a Statement of Attainment for the units you have completed.
Theory is completed online at your own pace. All practical training and assessment takes place at our Bankstown campus. Urban Skin Academy is approved to deliver this qualification in NSW only.
The course fee is $14,000. A payment plan of $1,400 per month over 10 months is available. Full terms, including what happens if you withdraw, are set out in our Fees and Refunds Policy.
